The State of the Race

A few observations from the presidential debates last night:

Romney - the attacks on his persona didn't help his opponents, but Romney showed a lack of passion or intelligence by not being able to logically defend himself.

Thompson - still doesn't have anything interesting to offer, although I appreciate his staunch unwillingness to support windfall-profit taxation.

Huckabee - still not sure for what he stands, if anything. Romney got the best of him early on. His responses came off a little too pre-planned. Don't see the passion.

Giuliani - Gained a bit of respect with his willingness to mostly refrain from the mudslinging. Still appears to stand for "more of the same" in Washington.

McCain - I was really enjoying McCain's display of self-restraint throughout the contest, that is at least until he began feeling a little left out and started taking jabs at Romney. If there was anyone I thought could stay above the fray, I thought it was McCain. No one cares about how good your borrowed jokes are. Show me how you're going to make this a better country.

Paul - Still my boy. Still needs to clarify his message. No one cares about or understands your ideals of pegging the dollar to gold. I know that you want to give America back its freedom. Sell the big picture, not the specifics.

Democrats - sorry, the Republicans wore me out. I do appreciate your passion, but not your fallacies.
